Poker is a card game of chance, but it also requires raw technical skill to play well. In the long-run, the best players win. Therefore, it is important to develop optimal frequencies & hand ranges for different situations and be aware of the structures & rules of the game.<\/p>\n
Before dealing cards each player must place an ante (amount varies by game). Once the cards are dealt the first round of betting begins. During this time players may discard their cards and draw replacements from the top of the deck if they wish. This is called the draw.<\/p>\n
Once the betting round is complete the dealer will deal three additional cards face up on the table that everyone can use (these are called community cards). Then another betting round takes place. After this the dealer will put a fourth card on the table that everybody can use (this is called the turn).<\/p>\n
